      The debate about what is actual "failure" is a long held debate within the HIT world, which is why John rightfully so just classified it as one of set of momentary positive failure. John also has discussed with me (and in his books) that may not be enough for everyone and like everything is context specific. I already knew John's answer, this was more a set up question that I knew others would have. Appreciate you watching and commenting brother.

    If you compared the $3000 Quantum Trainer with the $2000 PowerTech Workbench Multi-sysytem then the PowerTech would win. I don't know how they got away with that high loading point on the lat-pulldown with the Quantum Trainer, what were they thinking???

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance День тому

      That's good one to throw in for sure. Definitely not a bad value for that foot print. The vertical loader on the lat pull will change to a horizontal loader when it releases. Not going to lie, it freaked me out the first few times I used it.

    The Quantum Trainer reminds me of the Sorinex Hurricane, wish it's shipped out of the US so we can get it a little cheaper than it's current price tag

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance День тому

      I looked into the Sorninex and flashed the price on the screen on first review. It's actually made in the US (which I like), but that probably explains why it's another ~$1.5k more than the QT. Glen (the QT owner) told me he has about 18 left in a US warehouse that ships out within 48hrs in the continental states.

  • @mariolp2999

    The Quantum trainer is nice piece of equipment, but at the end of the day it's still a lever and it too overpriced...

    • @powerplanthomegym
      @powerplanthomegym День тому

      The price isn’t high when you consider one piece of hammer strength equipment like a chest press is 3.5k for one machine. This machine does tonnes!

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance День тому

      It's definitely high (relatively) for the home gym consumer, but when you compare it to other commercial pieces of similar function, it's actually fairly cheap when you consider the price includes shipping. There's a lot popular home machines that are not too bad on sticker price, but then add another ~$250-$500 on shipping.

  • @KevinR7777
    @KevinR7777 День тому

    Quantum trainer Range of motion is the way to go. The bench press is like doing dumbbell bench just can't compare the two machines. Both really good machines, but I have to go with the quantum gym.

  • @powerplanthomegym
    @powerplanthomegym День тому

    Great unbiased comparison dude. Having always wanted a plate loaded leverage machine for my home gym powertec was probably top of my list, but after seeing the QT and what it could do it was a no brainer for me. I’ve tried most lever gyms now I think the powertec will suit most people especially on a budget but I think if anyone can stretch for the QT they won’t regret it, I certainly haven’t. Also, having tried most of the hammer strength machines, panatta plate loaded machines etc I think this replicates a lot of them machines so well in one package and for a fraction of the price, that’s the way I looked at it and the value seems unreal then. I think what Glens managed to achieve with this machine is outstanding, people really need to experience it to understand and appreciate it. The feeling for pressing movements is some of the best I’ve ever felt, it’s like a dumbbell with the safety and flow of a machine. Once this machine gets more exposure and experienced more I believe it’ll blow up and be everywhere.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance День тому

      Thanks for all that information and providing another user experience. I'm with you on that, that once people try it and it gets more exposure, it could take off. Not sure if more in the home gym or commercial market. Time will tell though.

    I used to use a landmine attachment to a barbell as my principal piece of workout equipment, so seeing you swing that arm around on the QT trainer reminds me of that, although it is anchored much higher.

      I tried it on my gmwd lever gym, but I don't think on the powertec. Nothing for or against the exercise, just didn't do it yet.

  • @NesolitS
    @NesolitS 2 дні тому

    For people who live in an apartment and has a problem with space or money, many of the exercises that are done on these machines can be very well improvised with two olympic bars in a landmine version (higher or lower position) and a worker's pulley roller attached to the ceiling or wall low and high for other pulling exercises or Swedish ladder which you can hang whatever you want and also resistance bands. Thanks for the video.

    Great video . Body solid makes a lever gym for 1,050 and 1,300 with there bench and is made up of 11 gauge round steel fram. I'm considering buying it when the funds come in . P2 looks amazing thank you for reviewing it.

      Thank David and thanks for that info on the body solid. That machine also looks great. The only downside to that one is that the arms are fixed and can't be used in isolation. Not a giant deal, but just something some people don't notice right away.

    • @ECIA78
      @ECIA78 2 дні тому

      thanks Mike. Great video and huge insight as usual. From your thorough and in depth analysis i would buy both (but i can not afford both of them). Key pint is that i can infer from your review huge value in both, not necessarily being mutually exclusive and not necessarily having that much overlap. Price points, destination, segment, usage, loading, mechanics are different. As an average lifter with limited footage and straining for versatility i still consider the levergym to be one of the best value proposition in the market. Or the BodySolid alternative as David pointed out, but for a couple of hundreds bucks i would stay with the Powertec. The QT2 is something amazing in terms of quality, reach, range of motion, potential, and the price is well deserved, i genuinely believe that me as a lifter maybe still do not deserve that much of an opportunity as it would be like putting a Lamborghini engine in a STELLANTIS car. thanks mike gray job as usual.

      The Powertec is a mix of 11 gauge and 12 gauge. The main frame is 11 gauge but the lever arms and side rails are 12 gauge. The bodysolid is not totally 11 gauge either. Just the main frame is 11 gauge just like the powertec. And yes i owned both.

      It's very slight, but I prefer the feel of the powertec and also like being close to the machine to be able to rack and un-rack with the pin mid set. With that said the gmwd is more solid and doesn't shake. Stay tuned for tomorrow's video for another contender and comparison to the powertec.

    Maybe I missed it, but I am a little unclear; He says that he used to license Kre Alkalyn to other companies. Later, these two partnered up and started EFX and sold Kre Alkalyn directly. But, today, there are still a few companies that sell products called "Kre Alkalyn" and are highly rated, certified, etc. So... Is Kre Alkalyn sold by companies other than EFX still legitimate Kre Alkalyn? He makes it seem as though nobody else knows how to make the stuff other than him, so for other companies to sell their own, they would have either had to figure it out (which he says they haven't) or they source it from him (which I thought he said he stopped doing when he made EFX and started selling it himself). But then again, since he has the patents, how could other companies sell a product called "Kre Alkalyn" if it isn't, in fact, real Kre Alkalyn?

      I could see where that would be confusing but yes, anything Kre Alkalyn is made by them or more specifically Dr. Jeff’s co. All American Pharmaceutical. They also are a manufacturing company for other supplement companies.

    I've only subscribed to a few channels in my life, I subscribed to yours jist now in the hopes that you'll be able to help me stay on track with this. I just got my total gym this week. I like it so far. It feels like I can work out muscles with this that I couldn't possibly do at the gym. The thing I struggle with most, regarding exercise in general, is that I'm not sure what to do daily, for my lifestyle. What I'd like to do is have a routine every morning, where I work out for like 30 minutes as a way to start my day. Nothing too intense, but something that will be progress in the right direction. Have you ever put out like a good daily plan thing like this that works with the total gym? I'm sure your workout routine is much more intense than what I'm looking to do, but any suggestions you have on what will be best for a 30 minute thing every morning would be appreciated.

    If you only needed to go to 80lb, would you choose the Snode or RepPep ? Thanks!

      It’s hard to fully say that only using the prototype for a brief period of time. I’ll just say it will be hard to not use my snodes for how good they feel. I will likely be having another db review coming soon that a further provide a comparison to my snodes if you stay tuned. Hopefully in about a weeks time.

    Wow, Mike. Super interview! I have seen the EFX brand before, but never knew anything about them. It is very cool to know that Jeff and I were competing at about the same time. When he was talking about doing the research on his product, it reminded me of the many hours I spent in the local library with my nose stuck in the Indicus Medicus researching anabolics. So now I have to go home and toss the creatine I am currently taking, and checkout theirs. Many thanks! You should continue to interview topics like this an addition to your regular equipment reviews. You are a natural.

      I appreciate that comment Martin and always appreciate that support. Dr. Jeff was competing back in the prime time down at the Mecca of bodybuilding. He’s got a pretty inspiring story.
